Telemarketing careers for my third world brethren
Apr 18th, 2008 by dino-ray
Each day, I get these annoying memos at work in my e-mail inbox. Sometimes I just scan through them, roll my eyes and press delete. But there are those special occasions when something catches my eye - especially the e-mails from our head honchos. I like to call them my journalistic pimps.
Anyways, I got excited when I read this little excerpt from today’s memo:
Managers and sales and marketing staff members, led by Mike Switzer, launched a campaign to expand single copy sales at newsracks and retail locations. First step: A full audit of existing locations throughout the East Bay. Goal: 100 new sales outlets. Harold Strong, Suksham Barun and their field management team are saluted for improving customer service related to our Wall Street Journal delivery business in Alameda County. Emelyn Monteclaro is leading the successful conversion of our circulation call center from one in Miami formerly owned by McClatchy to one in the Philippines.
Finally, an opportunity for my barefoot and toothless brethren in the Philippines to have promising careers in telemarketing.
God bless you Bay Area News Group.
