One step behind Entertainment Weekly and GQ
Jul 27th, 2008 by dino-ray
Okay, so based on the previous post, you know I am an avid reader of Entertainment Weekly and GQ. I have also pitched them articles many times, which have been often met with politely curt rejections or no response at all.
But in the latest issues I saw two articles in each that I swear I have been marinating on. For one, I have been wanting to write an article about how being laid off can be the greatest thing (considering the current circumstances) and a style-related piece on the costumes of Mad Men.
Lo and behold, I open these issues and GQ has an article about being laid off and Entertainment Weekly has a piece on the set design of “Mad Men”!
Busted me.
At least I know I am in the same vein as the two magazines - I just have to be ahead of the curve a little bit more.
Or maybe - these magazine folks have some sort of Cerebro thing and stealing all my great ideas.
