90210 Analysis Part 2: Kelly’s Dress and Brandon’s socks

I am still on my Beverly Hills 90210 kick and I am on the second season and I have stumbled upon so many good episodes including the Emily Valentine craziness (believe me, I’ll get to that later).
Anyways, I was watching the episode titled “Chuckie’s Back” where Steve has a run-in with his childhood nemesis (and his mother’s former sitcom co-star) and there’s a whole mess with his mom’s “Hartley House” sitcom reunion and then Steve gets inspired to find his real mother.
That’s not the best part of the show. Actually, its kind of anti-climactic. But I remember watching it the very first time in 1991 and I thought it was a big deal. Now that I am an adult (more or less), I saw something more important - how HOT Kelly’s dress was at some random high school dance the school was having:
No, I’m for real. This dress could actually pass as a decent piece of luxe clothing today. With a little tinkering of the lapel size and the belt - it is quite swanky! You can’t see the skirt portion, but the silhouette is fab.
Then there was the whole Brandon’s white socks/black shoes combo:
Okay, I was guilty of this back in the day as well. I can see why it was so cool - because BRANDON WALSH did it. I swear, the socks are the only things you can see in this picture.
And let’s not forget good ol’ Andrea…
WOW. This is matronly and HOT. What did they do to her? Try to make her the most dowdy ruffled mess on the show? I am so offended by this…and in an odd way, turned on.
