Crying over ‘Milk’ and experiencing ‘Twilight’
Nov 19th, 2008 by dino-ray
I just came home from a long ass day. I went to a screening of Milk during the day, then wrote a little bit. Ate some corn chowder. And then went to a screening of Twilight where gaggles of tween girls screamed and squealed at every scene that included Robert Pattinson (he and I are BFF - remember?). And a side note - Why does Jacob look odd to me?
But back to Milk - this has to be one of my faves of the year. Sean Penn is brilliant and to learn even more about Harvey Milk made me think that I needed to be more civic-minded and less of a hater. If anything, it was an inspirational piece by Gus Van Sant - and yes, I teared up and held back my ugly cry. When this movie comes out - I urge you to see it…it is great.
As for Twilight - I liked it. I would’ve liked it more if all those tween girls weren’t vomiting shrieks throughout the damn thing. And since I am kind of sleepy, I’ll put my two cents on this later. But all I have to say is that this is going to make a KILLING at the box office.
What’s on tomorrow’s plate you ask? I am going to be on a panel about “sustainable fashion.” Maybe I will reveal to everyone that I am a vampire.
