The latest movie to get crossed off of my Oscar buzz list is Invictus starring Morgan Freeman as the selfless Nelson Mandela and Matt Damon as the dreamy South African rugby captain, Francois Pienaar.
Immediately after the movie I tweeted:
@DinoRay Don’t tell anyone, but INVICTUS almost made me cry. I didn’t know I was capable of such an emotion.
Also, I don’t think anyone else in the world can speak in iambic pentameter like Nelson Mandela and get away with it.
Nonetheless, the moral of the movie is: a gritty hooligan gentlemen sport can bring a nation together.
