Enlightening Google talk conversations: the anti-LOL coalition

me: i dont like using LOL
i can never type that out

zaid: yeah, its not convenient to type
i keep typing lolo
naturally..

me: i think LOL is just filler
it fills in space in a conversation

zaid: why not just say…ha or haha

me: ike if someone even says something REMOTELY funny ppl immediately go LOL

zaid: yeah, you’re right, some people just do use lol as an interjection
like how i use the ellipsis

me: like if i said, “wow I feel floopy today”
u would be all “LOL”

zaid: “i saw you at the park”

“lol…yeah…i was there”

me: HAHAHA
YES
see now that “HAHAHA” was real
i actually laughed

zaid: yes…

me: lol

zaid: i could feel your laughter from the HA’s

me: yea lol doesnt do it for me
and it kinda insults the conversation, you know? It’s like a conversation speedbump
almost inconsiderate

zaid: yeah…if i were to actually have LOL’d…i would literally say…..I SO LAUGHED OUT LOUD RIGHT NOW

me: YES
like LOL is a way of someone saying, “well it wasnt that funny, but i’ll humor the guy”

zaid: i think lol is a kick in the nards to us folk…it is the worst acronym to be used on the internet
