The time is upon is – the season premiere of Glee is less than 24 hours away and I thought I could fit one more blog post on to the finer dandy.
Some “Gleeks” meet the cast of Glee
Even so, I refuse to call myself a “Gleek“. Yes, I am a fan. Yes, I adore the show. Yes, I want to be on the show – but no matter what, I will never use that label. It’s nothing personal. It holds a totally different meaning to me than to everyone else. It’s a good thing that Urban Dictionary has my definition of the word:
building up saliva in the salivary glands using some stimulus, like sour food or yawning, and then pressing the tongue upon the glands, causing the saliva to shoot out, usually at an impressive distance.
Yup. Since my pre-teen years, this has been my definition of “gleek.” I even became an excellent “gleeker”; showcasing my disgusting “salivary shoot out” skills.
Whether or not this is really a skill is up for debate.
Now you can see why I can’t bring myself to use the term “gleek” to describe my fandom for the beloved show. My real definition will forever be embedded in my head.
