World Series Game 2: Merkins and ‘Tron Legacy’

I decided to show my Giants spirit by wearing my Filippa K coral shirt (I know it’s not really orange, but it’s in the same family, right?) and my black waxed denim April 77 jeans. It was quite festive. For some reason, I was nervous that I was gonna jinx the team because I wore the colors — but my irrational superstition was proven wrong because the SF Giants won again.

I was working when the game started and true to form, I was obsessively checking the score and thinking of interesting things to tweet — so I thought of Brian Wilson’s beard which obviously led me to think of merkins. So I tweeted:

@dinoray Fear the merkin.

After work, while my friends were hopping bar to bar trying to find a place to watch the game, I went to a 20 minute preview of Tron Legacy. Again, they were announcing the score; proving that no matter where you go in this city, you can’t escape this Giant infection.

I hopped out of the theater theater (BTW — if you do watch Tron Legacy you must view it in 3-D. It will be worth it) and met up with my friends at Azul and got there just in time for some garlic fries and the 9th inning to see the Giants win.

So to wrap up the World Series game 2: Filippa K coral shirt, merkins, Tron Legacy, and garlic fries.

Makes perfect sense.
