My first column titled “Popped” popped up in the latest issue of Hyphen Magazine.

The column will explore Asian Americans in pop culture and in this particular article, I use the beloved Data from “The Goonies” as a jumping off point to explore how Asian Americans have been evolving in the world of TV and movies — and straying away from stereotypical roles of Asian-osity. I also mention the homeboy from “21 Jump Street” — that should count for something, right?

And P.S. — the illustration by Stephanie Kubo is brilliant.
