The world pulsated with joy as the premiere of the Britney Spears video for [amazon_link id="B004ISGC66" target="_blank" ]“Hold It Against Me”[/amazon_link] invaded the waves of the Internet and TV (wait — do they actually play videos on television anymore?).
The video contains epileptic cuts to Britney in a techno-industrial tube of TVs showing her past videos, Britney dancing with her pop-punky minions, Britney circled by a ring of microphones, Britney fighting with Britney is fancy clothes, Britney in a big white dress, and, on top of all that, gratuitous product shots of technological products.
One of the best thing was that Britney looked like Britney. Even though she was surrounded by this hyper-reality of dubstep fare, she kept it Britney, bitch — as opposed to Christina Aguilera. When X-tina tried to dive into this music world that has turned into a land of pseudo avant garde-ness with “Bionic”, she did not look like herself. Britney kept it real –and there was dancing! You don’t get a good dance routines these days.
