The cast of Community were bestowed with the honor of being a “Fan Favorite” by beating out shows Supernatural and Chuck to grace for the cover of TV Guide (three different covers to be exact). Seeing as though it was announced that the show will be benched midseason, the show’s loyal fanbase of “Communitards” (including me) made it clear that they want this show to stay (#sixseasonsandamovie).

In your face NBC!

What I am about to say may be sacrilegious, but I was actually expecting the show to be pulled altogether — not because it is NOT one of the greatest shows ever to grace television screens (“Remedial Chaos Theory” was a brilliant orgasm of TV writing) but because of ratings. As a lot of my friends have said many people just “don’t get it” — but for pop culture junkies, we take loyal ownership of this show. It’s our toy and scoff at people who don’t want to play with it. The meta pop culture-laden show has a cult following that has a roster of misfits just as snarky, deviously clever, cinephilia-inclined, irreverent and ironic as the Greendale scholars.

Nonetheless, this TV Guide triumph has more than likely earned the show at least one more season — and that makes me a happy Human Being.

Check out the reaction of the cast (and Alison Brie’s cypher skills) when they found out the good news:
