The trailer for This Must Be the Place has Sean Penn looking like a long lost less edgy, but still misfit-like American cousin of Lisbeth Sander. Slated to be in the lineup for Sundance 2012, the movie is about a veteran rock star on the hunt for an ex-Nazi who killed his father.

I’ve been waiting for a movie to put all those things together.

Penn will obviously get the job done because that’s what he does and the Nazi element automatically puts it in contention for an awards caliber film. In addition to that, the title takes it name from a song by The Talking Heads — and that makes it retro and hip. But what about his Cure-inspired look?
