Based on the trailer for Upside Down, Melancholia darling Kirsten Dunst is filling her dramatic sci-fi genre punchcard, while Jum Sturgess seems to love characters who get involved in complicated relationships (remember him in that gag-worthy romantic drama where he fell in love with Anne Hathaway and her English accent?).

Fusing together the cinematic trend of alternate Earth universes and the “HOW’D THEY DO THAT?!” imagery of Inception, director Juan Diego Solanas brings us this love story that is pretty much a fancier version of “Dancing on the Ceiling”. Check out the trailer (SPOILER ALERT: there are French subtitles. So for those of you who have something against the French language, you’ve been warned):

I have a great idea. Watch the trailer again, but this time watch it with Diana Ross’s jivin’ tune, “Upside Down”. It kicks it up a notch!

The American release date for Upside Down is still questionable, but I am more than certain that if they add Ross’s song in the trailer, it will be a surefire HIT in the states!
