“Ain’t Nobody” by Chaka Khan (and Rufus!) is one of those keytar songs that was diva growlin’ long before Beyonce was puttin’ a ring on it. Filled with sumptuous synths, the song wears a leather Michael Jackson “Thriller” jacket and a jheri curl held together by an rad head band — which is why I like to do step aerobics to it.

The song set the standard in ’80s movies for “LET’S GET TO WORK!” music montages. It was (and still is) the perfect soundtrack for that part in the movie when a group of friends have to work together in order to achieve a collective goal (like rebuilding a rundown meaningful, local restaurant to save it from destruction from the evil landlord who threatens to turn it into a strip mall) or the main character has to learn something important in order to fulfill his or her destiny as portrayed in the seminal Breakin’:

…and here’s the actual music video for the song. It’s guaranteed to add more strut to your step!
