I firmly believe that Elizabeth Banks has super powers to morph into any character possible. Whether it’s first lady Laura Bush (W) or a ditzy book store sales associate (40-Year-Old Virgin), she deserves a glorious “YOU GO GIRL!” for all her performances. This year, she gives us a hearty helping of movies including What to Expect When You’re Expecting and The Hunger Games (a.k.a. THE MOST IMPORTANT MOVIE EVENT OF 2012). She’s also producing Pitch Perfect, a comedy about the world of competitive college a capella groups. But to get you ready for all that, she’ll be testing her skills as a negotiator as she tries to talk Sam Worthington out of plummeting to his death from a New York high rise in Man on a Ledge. I had the chance to chat with her about what drew her to the project, her negotiating skills and her experience of being so “high”…in the air.

Check out the synopsis and full-length trailer for the movie:

An ex-cop and now wanted fugitive (Sam Worthington) stands on the ledge of a high-rise building while a hard-living New York Police Department negotiatior (Elizabeth Banks) tries to talk him down. The longer they are on the ledge, the more she realizes that he might have an ulterior objective.

Man on a Ledge opens in theaters today.
