The other day, I mustered up the strength to sit through another viewing of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 on DVD. Actually, I think I just pressed play on my DVD player and by the time I realized what was playing, I was just too damn lazy to change the disc. Nonetheless, there was one thing I realized whilst watching the movie for the THIRD time: this movie is pretty bad — and not so bad that it’s good. It’s beyond that. It’s a place that can’t be described. It’s a place where the word suck and happiness intersect and tear a hole in the space-time continuum. I truly believe that watching this movie has taken away part of my soul. It has made me lose hope in the taste level of humankind — but there is a bright side to this: the parodies!
There are many Breaking Dawn parodies out there, which leaves room for many, many, many, many poorly made ones…and even many, many, many more unfunny ones. Then there is the little treasure made by The Hillywood Show that makes me smirk. More than that, it goes along with my philosophy of how this movie should have been a musical of the Bill Condon variety…or even a house air horn-friendly, grinding romp through a flashy gay club that restricts itself through top 40 remixes.
