Yesterday, it was a sunny day in Austin. So sunny that I decided to start my day off with a morning run on Town Lake. I got lost.

In any matter, the weather allowed me to wear a pair of over priced Tom Ford sunglasses and a short sleeve shirt so that I could act like I’m not showing off my tattoos.

More highlights from the day include:

  • Eden: One of the most gut-wrenching movies I have seen during the fest — and I mean that in the most sincere and complimentary way. The movie is based on the story of human trafficking survivor Chong Kim. The movie was directed by Megan Griffiths and stars Jamie Chung and Matt O’Leary (who I interviewed today). Within the first 30 seconds of the film I was invested. Although it is difficult to watch, it puts the spotlight on human trafficking in a way that hasn’t been done before. I better stop writing about it before I start crying all over the place — which is what the audience was doing at the premiere.
  • I also watched Gayby and then interviewed the director, Jonathan Lisecki and the two stars, Matthew Wilkas and Jenn Harris (stay tuned to the site for all of my interviews). The movie is, by far, one of the sweetest and funniest films I’ve seen this year. It made me smile with joy. Plus, there’s a pole dancing scene. You can never go wrong with a good pole dancing scene.
  • I also took a quick browse through the Interactive Trade Show today. At a quick glance, I saw some cool stuff. I also stopped by the Spreecast booth and made sure I apologized for the awkward work I did for them.
  • Today was also the premiere of the movie adaptation of 21 Jump Street. It was as magical as I thought it would be. I chuckled wholeheartedly multiple times throughout the movie. As I said in my tweet, “A Richard Grieco cameo and the rad original theme song would have elevated 21 Jump Street to a whole new level of magicalness.” I also took video of the cast and crew Q&A afterward. (BEWARE! THERE ARE SPOILERS IN THE VIDEO! WATCH AT YOUR OWN RISK!)
  • The biggest highlight of the day is what I ate for dinner…and that was a bag of Chex Mix.
