I will be totally honest with you. I am not a fan of flash mobs — wait — let me rephrase that. I am not a fan of HOKEY flash mobs that are like color-by-number dance routines that end up looking like an uncoordinated epileptic fit.

A good flash mob makes you want to be a part of it and makes you feel NOT embarrassed for the people partaking in it. In other words, a good flash mob has people who are cooler and are having more fun than you. A perfect example of this is the Step Up Revolution flash mob that invaded Lefty O’Doul Plaza earlier this week at AT&T Park in San Francisco. Joining this rag tag bunch of B-boys and hip-hop dancers was one of the stars of the movie tWitch who you may recognize from season four of So You Think You Can Dance. Also, if you look closely you can spot Christopher Scott of LXD fame:

My booty poppin’ panache would have been a great addition to that routine, but I showed up too late.

Step Up Revolution opens in theaters July 27. VIVA LA REVOLUCION!
