Everyone is spazzing and gushing over Jay-Z‘s The Great Gatsby soundtrack, but I’m not…mainly because I really haven’t listened to much of it. But I did hear a couple of tracks…like the cover of Amy Winehouse‘s “Back to Black” by Andre 3000 and Mrs. Beyonce Carter. Yeah. It’s haunting. It’s a little bizarre. It’s an acquired taste. There is also a cover of Bey’s “Crazy in Love” courtesy of English pop star Emeli Sandé and it has some moxie! It’s quite fun and full of 1920s flap-happy charm. Very appropriate for the movie. Makes me want to be wear a pair of spats and take on a career as a bootlegger.
