…because B-girls are hot. And that “Womanizer” routine was even hotter.

How could I not support this crew? Plus, three of them were on SYTYCD, so it’s a given. It’s like a law. If you supported them on SYTYCD, then you have to support them on ABDC…and Hok’s hair alone is reason enough for me to give them half of my endorsement. Oh yeah, and they have the most awesomest B-boy skillz. (you notice how I spelled “skillz”"? The “z” makes me feel more street).

I remember when I liked this show. When it first came out, I loved me some Heather B. and Julie. I was there when Tami said “It wasn’t not funny!” And I endured the drama and harships of San Francisco. I even sat through the entire London season…but now the show is pure exploitation with a capital XXX.

The Real Worlders are now in Brooklyn. I like Brooklyn, but why here? They’ve been to New York TWICE already! Looks like MTV is running out of ideas. And just by watching this video, I know my interest in this show is still dead.

I actually read the results beforehand via blogs that are based in different time zones, but alas, the winner of this season is…

SUPER CR3W!

I am so happy! Thank God they won it. I would like to think I had a lot to do with it. I was voting last night and I think it was my votes that put them over the top. And to make things even better – they represented Filipinos with so much PI Sun paraphernalia! Way to go guys! I am so happy I made you win. It was all me.

Hmmmm…I may just go to the one in Oakland.

Each show has been inconsistent who is good or bad. One week someone “smashes” it, the next week they flounder. Although this show interesting week after week, it makes me impatient because I just want to be a fan of one crew – but unfortunately, the world doesn’t work out that way – that’s why I am a fan of three crews as of now. I am saying “as of now” because that might change next week. I am compartmentalizing the episodes, basing my “favorite” on the most recent show.

That said, as of now, my three fave crews are: Supreme Soul, Super Cr3w and Fanny Pak.

Here’s how they faired this week with the “Dance like a Janet Jackson video” challenge…

Well before all the groups did their thang, they all formed one Ultimate Crew and danced to the classic “Rhythm Nation”

I like how the show is doing this group routine thing. I hope it becomes a regular thing. This first one was pretty damn fun.

As for the individual performances, let’s start with Fanny Pak

I’m proud of Fanny Pak, they were at the top of the heap this week. What can I say? Sex sells. Licking sells. Mounting sells. Girl-on-girl action sells. The routine was hot, but not their strongest. As for Shane’s comment about the guys dancing more like guys, I see the credit in his critique and I also see how it could be taken as an insult. Most of all, I like how as soon as he said it, he tried to get the crowd to back him up. Good damage control Shane.

Supreme Soul’s luck turned around this week as they were in the top. Way to represent the Yay Area guys! The performance – it was good. It was that whole “reeling in” thing that did it for me. Everything else was pretty much expected. I’m rootin’ for ya guys! Don’t let me down!

So Real faced the bottom for the first time this week. And it was an “okay” performance to JJ’s “I Get So Lonely.” It seems like they plateaued and they need something to amp things up more than whip cream and body rolls.

The lovable Boogie Bots ended up at the top and one of their crew members was about to go ballistic because of last week’s lukewarm performance. This week wasn’t lukewarm, but if it wasn’t for that evolution thang they did at the end, it would’ve been. The Bots have some sick tricks, but they are missing a third dimension that will blow the competition out of the water.

Eek! Super Cr3w was in the bottom two this week! What are we to do? Okay, well…I think they, like So Real have plateaued. They need something that will boost them up there. Their b-boy skills are top-notch – no one else on this show can hold a watch to their flaring skills – but something is missing. I bet you if you gave them a dose of Fanny Pak’s creativity, a dash of Supreme Soul’s confidence and a twist of So Real’s choreography style, you would truly have a real Super Crew.
But I’m still supporting you guys! REPRESENT FOR B-BOYS (and wannabe B-boys like me) ALL AROUND THE WORLD!

A.S.I.I.D’s “If” routine was good but it seemed a bit desperate. And considering they were in the bottom two, it was even more so. I wasn’t really entertained. Let this be a testimony and a warning to those groups that have plateaued. Because the kids from A.S.I.I.D. had to hit the road this week…

I think the word of the week is “PLATEAU.”

Yes it’s all back – J.C. Chasez and his surprisingly urban dandy outfits, Shane Sparks and his low-brim baseball caps, bling and knack for criticism, Mr. Mario “Chorus Line” Lopez and Lil Mama along with her arsenal of ponytail-through-the-top-rhinstone-encrusted baseball caps. And might I add, I have noticed that Lil Mama, in her critiques, says “I appreciate that,” as opposed to her template quote from last season, “I respect that.” My, how she has grown.

Last year, Jabbawockeez (my sister and my cousin vow to be co-presidents of their fan club along with every other girl in the world) took the prize and this year there is some stiff competition (that’s what she said).

I’m really enjoyin’ A.S.I.I.D. (And So It Is Done), not just because they have a deaf member (yes you heard that right), but because they turned that stage out – and I loved the color combo they picked for their outfits. Good story. Good dancing. Sounds like a good combo for longevity on the show.

Then there is another girl group called Sass times 7. Ummm. Okay. The whole cheerleading act is fun and cute – but I don’t see them lasting very long – especially with a group name like that.

Boogie Bots: I just like the name for the breakin’ crew, but I am feelin’ Super Cr3w a little bit more when it comes to tearin’ up the floor with six-step tricks. Even so, their talent is not up to par as of yet. They need to STEP IT UP!

As for Philly-based Phresh Select, I didn’t catch their performance, but the name reminds me of a Fresh-Mex fast food joint. Word says that they are kind of cocky.

I was actually impressed by the boys from suburbia, Xtreme Dance Force and the LA-based jazz-pop group Fanny Pack is this year’s BreakSk8, only because it’s giving us something different to look at other than hip-hop. It’s a gimmick that beat out one of my fave dance crews from California: Team Millenia. Man – I wish they stayed on the show.

Then there is Distorted X a majority girl group (with two guys) who were pretty decent – and okay, okay, I have to mention So Real because I am from Texas and I know of the crew from my days of college, but I am more familiar with the “first generation” of the crew. But I must give them a friendly nod for their growth.

Even so, I have to back San Francisco’s own Soul Supreme they threw down on that stage – and I loved their choice of letterman’s jackets for their costuming – it’s very throwback Michael Jackson meets Rydell High.

Hmmmm…can they take the top prize? I guess we’ll just see!

And mind you – this is one of the only shows I watch on MTV since they decided to put on vomit-inducing shows like The Hills. Ugh. Just thinking about that show makes me have violently splattering diarrhea.
