.) The B.D.S. Comedy Trifecta: When I say B.D.S., I am referring to Bateman (as in Jason), Day (as in Charlie) and Sudeikis (as in Jason number 2). The three portray buddies Nick, Dale, and Kurt and are the flux capacitor of the Seth Gordon-directed Horrible Bosses. All of them have an undying hatred for their bosses on different levels. All of them want to kill their bosses. Separately, we know that B.D.S. can deliver comedy. Each tend to sculpt their enjoyably predictable characters to adapt to comedic environments in movies. In essence, they are the same, but different. Bateman, oftentimes, can be seen as the straight-laced gentleman who is morally centered and good-natured, but is like a dormant volcano on the verge of an epic meltdown (Arrested Development). Day is normally the fast-talking, adorable, quirky, always nervous, somewhat-idiotic man boy that’s like the little brother who love to pick on just so you see how he’d react (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia).
.) The B.D.S. Finally, Sudeikis (who also appeared with Day in Going the Distance) dons the grin of a blank-faced jester who recklessly cracks jokes — sometimes he knows what he’s saying, sometimes he is totally clueless. Either way he delivers a pitch-perfect (most of the time offensive) punchline. Together, the three combine their funny man forces for a dark comedy that is the perfect balance of raunch, cheap laughs, and side-splitting wit. In a nutshell, they are the Voltron of comedy.

.) Boss #1: Unattractive Farrell: It’s kind of hard to believe that Colin Farrell could actually be funny. Well, he is and as Kurt’s faux martial artist-posing asshole boss Bobby Pellitt, he does not hold back when serving up generous helpings of douchebaggery.

.) Boss #2: Horny Aniston: As Dale’s dentist boss, Jennifer Aniston goes balls to the wall with her performance as a man-eating she-wolf in heat — and the line about her breaking a nail while pleasuring herself during an episode of Gossip Girl would make a great Facebook status. Also, I never thought I would hear the phrase, “I am a squirter” come out of Rachel Green’s mouth.

.) Boss #3: Psycho Spacey: Of the three hated bosses, Spacey is the most vile. He’s shady. He’s out to genuinely hurt people. He abuses his power with the utmost assholeness — he’s basically a bully. As Nick’s boss, he is horrible for sport. If you hate Kevin Spacey as an actor, then you’ll really love him as Nick’s boss, Dave Harken.

.) The movie portrays fantasies come to life:: If you haven’t fantasized about doing harm upon your boss (whether it be violent, humiliating or otherwise) there is seriously something wrong with you.

.) Just enough Foxx: With a tattoo’ed noggin, Jamie Foxx appears as Dean “Mother Fucker” Jones, the “hitman” the three hire — and he appears in the movie the perfect number of times preventing Foxx-overload. He does what he needs to do and does it well.

.) Cocaine is cool again: Farrell’s character likes to snort the snow — which means that cocaine is definitely making a comeback! (Did it ever go anywhere to begin with?)

.) Appearnces from Mr. Fantastic, Claire Dunphy and the Old Spice Guy: Yes, Ioan Gruffudd, Julie Bowen, and Isaiah Mustafa pop in the movie for some fun — and their roles are CRUCIAL to the plot of the movie. OK. Not really. But it’s fun to see them — especially Gruffudd’s turn as a “wetwork man.”

.) Horrible Bosses has delivered the best movie quote of the summer: “I’d like to bend her over a barrel and show her the 50 states.” Believe me, it makes sense in the movie…OK…it doesn’t but it is damn funny.

.) One of the main reasons to add this to your summer movie list: It’s not The Hangover II.

Horrible Bosses opens in theaters today.
