I, like every other kid of the ’80s loved the late Mr. Wizard (his real name was Dan Herbert) — but I didn’t realize how he was kind of a jerk when he taught the kids experiments. Actually, he wasn’t a jerk. He, like any good teacher, used condescending tough love to teach us the right way to do things. Also, the kids he worked with were probably just morons.

I like his style of teaching. Perhaps today’s coddling teachers can take a hint from him and stop this “every kid is special” bullcorn.

I wonder who would have won in a fight between him and Bill Nye.
